I joined the Somerset Light Infantry at Taunton in
1957, did my training, most of it was at Chedder Gorge, Joined the
1st Bn S L I at Knook Camp Warminster, and then the Bugle Platoon
under B/Major Smith. then it was off to Osnabruck !958-59. I came
back to the depot at Bodmin for a spell and joined the 1st Bn SCLI,
as they had amalgamated in Germany. Then to Gibraltar until about
three weeks before I was demobbed in 1963 March at Shrewbury L I
Depot.
